Live Traffic and Telemetry

How does "View Live Traffic" work?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Aloft's Dynamic Airspace maps power live views into your program's daily activity as well as the surrounding airspace. Together, these various tools, integrations, and the enhanced visibility provide air bosses, airspace coordinators, and pilots better insight for critical decision making.

There are several layers and data sources that come together to paint a more complete picture.

To view live traffic, simply toggle the "View Live Traffic" button found in the bottom-right corner of the Airspace map.

There are several levels of integrations to connect live telemetry to the Air Control web dashboard:

  1. Direct flight in Air Control

    1. Anzu Raptor Series or DJI SDK5 supported drones on Android:

This screenshot shows the live telemetry of an Anzu Raptor flying in the Air Control app, with telemetry visible from the web dashboard.

  2. Remote ID Sensors

    1. Dronetag, UAS Sentry, Casia G, and more.

  3. #rd-Party App Integrations

    1. Skydio, Autel, Dronelink

  4. Aloft AirMesh SDK

    1. ADSb integrations

    2. Radar, Visual, and RF sensors

Anything else!

The flexibility in using a blend of sensors allows a real time view into your live drone operations as well as insight into the surrounding activity. This level of situational awareness allows operators and command oversight more actionable information to make decisions, deconflict aircraft and airspace, and provide structure to incident response, facility security, BVLOS operations, and more.

Additional layers provide even more insight, including active missions, LAANC authorizations, B4UFLY Notify & Fly events, Aloft Geo Portal layers.

Range and Bearing Tools:

Access the range and bearing tool from the Airspace map by expanding "view live traffic".

First, pin the UAV or "ownship" you want to track. This is currently limited to one.

After you pin the ownship, clicking on other traffic will toggle the tools on. The first click shows the aircraft speed and altitude, a second click will display the range and bearing from the selected ownship.

These features all work together to provide real-time airspace awareness for better visibility and team coordination. Together, this interface supports "Air Boss" roles and coordinators that keep their teams safe and compliant during events or emergencies.
