Best Practices for Getting Started with the Anzu Raptor

Updated this week

Congrats on the new Anzu Raptor! This is a quick start guide for getting started with updates and best practices.

These steps are also recommended after a factory reset is performed on the controller.

  1. Boot up the controller, and tap on the Settings app

  2. Adjust Screen Timeout

    1. Head into Display > Screen Timeout > and select "30 minutes".

    2. This helps ensure the remote controller screen stays on while in use.

  3. Adjust Time Zone

    1. Back up to the Settings menu and scroll down to System > Date & Time > and confirm you're showing the correct time zone.

    2. If you need to adjust, disable the "use network provided time zone" toggle, and tap into the time zone menu. Once you adjust the time so it's reading correctly, you can re-enable the network time zone toggle. A mismatched time zone may cause internet issues.

  4. Connect to WiFi

    1. For your first login and flight, you'll want to make sure the device is connected to the internet in order to register the drone and remote warranty (You do not need to be logged into Air Control). This is required before being able to fly the drone completely offline.

  5. Check for app and firmware updates in-app

    1. Once connected to WiFi, launch Air Control. The app should automatically prompt you for app and firmware updates. If you want to check manually, tap the main menu in the top-left and then tap the version number at the bottom.

  6. Update manually if needed

    1. If you're having trouble updating or having any other unexpected app issues, we can manually update the app as well. Open the internet browser, and enter this URL: aloft.ai/download - make sure to select the green "Download for Anzu Raptor" option.

    2. Once the file downloads, tap it to install, and follow the prompts. Allow all the permissions during installation.

  7. Launch Air Control again, and check for additional app or firmware update by tapping the version number in the main menu.

Once you've confirmed everything is up to date, you're ready to fly!
